Bummer!
Caroline Aiken has had a bicycling accident and injured her
wrist. She had surgery on Friday and it went well but of
course that means she will not be coming to Wine & Music
Fest. Jimmy LaFave, another favorite here at
Kerrville
, has stepped up to close Saturday night. YEA Jimmy.
We
tried to get the Indigo Girls to come and take that spot to
raise awareness and some financial assistance for Caroline
but it didn’t work out….alas. BUT they and others from
our Family will be doing shows during the next few months to
do just that. We want to send her some love and good wishes
and some cash after Wine & Music, so will give you the
opportunity to help out as we did with Allen.
The
Sunday morning services to remember and celebrate Allen is
growing as we knew it would. What a beautiful Family we are!
There
is so much happening all at once around here right now we
are spinning. The phones are ringing the tractor is mowing
and as Rod used to say when folks would ask if we were
ready, ‘They’re coming whether we’re ready or not’.
So, come on!
Love,
Dalis

ALLEN
DAMRON REMEMBERED
Several
tribute / memorial gatherings for dearly departed Allen
Wayne Damron have already happened or are in the works.
Allen touched so many of us throughout the years, it’s
difficult for us to imagine his passing. We will, of
course, be remembering Allen during the 35th
Kerrville Folk Festival next Spring, but in the meantime,
good portion of the Sunday Folk Song Service during the 2005
Kerrville
Wine & Music Festival will be devoted to
remembering Allen. The services will be held at 11
a.m. on Sunday, September
4. We’ll be honoring Allen with stories,
songs, and prayer. Join Rod Kennedy, Tim Henderson,
Bobby Bridger and others for this warm tribute.
