Fireants
is leading the trend of young upstart bands. Unlike
most of their High School peers who tend to take to
Alternative Rock, Fireants members find their
inspiration in roots, folk, Americana and bluegrass
music. Which isn’t to say they’re wed to rigid
classic forms; one of the quintet describes the
combo’s music as “roots
rock/gypsy/throwback/bluegrass/eclectic electric.”
And their peers and beyond are subscribing to their
modern-classic style in droves.
The band members may be young in years (all are
still in various Austin high schools ) but they are
accruing experience and acclaim at an accelerated
rate.
