welcome for their first appearance at the Kerrville
Folk Festival, the fabulous INDIGO GIRLS!
Hot
on the release of their latest album “Poseidon and
the Bitter Bug” and writers/ performers of such
hits as “Closer to Fine” and “Galileo”, the
Indigo Girls (Amy Ray & Emily Saliers) came
into prominence as part of the late-'80s folk
singer/songwriter revival, and had staying power
where other artists from the same era quickly faded.
Their two-women-with-guitars formula may not have
seemed very revolutionary on paper, but the
combination of two distinct personalities and
songwriting styles provided tension and an
interesting balance.
