2006 Kerrville New
Folk Winner! From the mournful lament
of a dance hall girl to a stomping melodic rant
featuring her burial instructions, each of her
original songs draws life from the rich cross
currents of country, blues and mountain music. The
result is vibrant, contemporary original music with
a gritty and timeless feel.
An accomplished
songwriter, Diana honed her skills in the fertile
Austin, Texas music scene, where she released her
first recording, "Imagine Me" in
1996. The critical acclaim and grass roots following
that sprung up around this release caught the
interest of Hamstien Publishing, and Diana was
signed to a deal in 1997 to record "The One
That Got Away", released in 1998. Seeking
time to write from an even deeper place, Diana moved
to the northeast and continued touring while doing
some serious woodshedding in the hills of Western
Massachusetts.
