Susan
is without a doubt one of our favorite
performers. Susan was studying opera when she
first heard Nanci Griffith and thought, "I'd
rather do that". A wonderful singer,
guitar player, and piano player, here are some of
Susan's press clippings:
new
york times
an extremely promising singer and songwriter from
iowa who writes about changing social patterns from
a perspective that is clear eyed and leavened with
humour....
washington post
always an impressive songwriter, Werner continues to
compose sharp, funny, compassionate lyrics, a gift
rare enough to set her apart from most of her
folk-pop peers.
nashville scene
werner spins fresh, concise yet sophisticated
stories. it's easy to hear why such
prominent artists as richard thompson and joan
armatrading have invited her on the road....
montreal gazette
you've quite likely never heard of her, which is too
bad because werner is one of those rare finds, a
singer songwriter who sings as well as she plays as
well as she writes.
music row (nashville)
this woman is great. period.
