Please welcome 2 time New Folk Finalist, Utah
songwriter TR Ritchie. His lyric-driven songs
have been winning him songwriting awards throughout
the U.S. for more than 15 years, Influenced by
traditional folk ballads, country music, swing tunes
and the blues, Ritchie’s music feels at once
in-the-moment and timelessly classic. With a nod to
some of his favorite songwriters: Dylan, John Prine,
Leonard Cohen, Randy Newman – Ritchie’s music
resonates with his wit, insight, and lyricism, and
he backs it up with bedrock-solid guitar work. In
addition, Ritchie is a born storyteller, much in the
camp of such legendary monologists as Arlo Guthrie
and Utah Phillips, and his unscripted between-song
narratives have become as much a hallmark of his
live performances as his prize-winning lyrics.
